AP (Advanced Placement) Chem is generally offered only to juniors and seniors, but I am part of an experimental group that will be taking on the challange in 10th grade. I can assure you that I am competant enough to handle the workload and the stress...
But I can't help but fret over the curriculum. I have never taken a Chem class before, and while I know the basics of the subject from studying, I really would like to know EXACTLY what is covered in this class...? I would ask a teacher, but she has been continually unavailable and I don't know anyone who has taken the class before.

Thanks in advance,

something seems amiss...

or your school is just retarded.

u've yet to even take Honors Chem?

i took Honors Chem and Physics my freshman year in high school which was a prerequisite for the two AP classes offered there. they cant expect you to pass without some sort of basic understanding of the class...labeling it experimental is one thing...but stupidity is another. you should have been enrolled in honors chem the previous year. ah well but i digress. go to the AP college-board site. they'll fill you in. all AP classes have the same guidelines, since they all serve to prepare you for the AP tests administered in May.

You should definitely take AP World History in your sophomore year. I just wanted to let you know that AP Biology does NOT "build off of Chemistry" I'm taking AP Biology right now, and the Organic Chem was probably just two chapters. Most of AP Biology focuses on the biological aspects of life, although you are sometimes supposed to explain how the physical/chemical properties can influence biology (but it's not often enough). I would recommend taking whatever science class you're best at. (I personally think you should take AP Biology in your sophomore year, but your teacher, who is obviously closer to you and knows your strengths better than I do, is trying to get you into AP Chemistry.)
