The basic version of limewire is free.
However, frostwire does all the pro version of limewire does, and ITS free as well!
Try frostwire!

Limewire is good software i still use it to this day. I really like Limewire, I'm actually an avid user of it. If I want to download a music file I use Limewire always. If you are looking for a good peer to peer software to download music, softwares/programs and videos you should get limewire too.
It's a safe and reliable pogram but like all peer to peer program you have to be careful of what you are donwloading from it. It does not matter what P2P program you use, you always have to be cautious about what you download.
Don't use torrents/downloads from other sites, they might be backdoored.

Limewire is free and open source, go to www.limewire.com.
You can use it to find many free media files, some under creative commons licencse, others not, via the gnutella network, there are also many other gnutella clients, see www.gnutella.com. As with all these file sharing programs, it should not be used to violate copyright (well its down to how you feel about these things, funny thing is, limewire pro is also avalible on there for free!), that is down to you and you take the risk if you do!

http://www.limewire.com/ is the most used free file sharing site. make sure you have anti virus running before swapping any files. the free edition of avg available from http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/ does a good job. once you have installed limewire do a search for limewire pro. then install this and delete the original. pro is faster.
