I understand it is legal to use but im sure something must be illegal?

using Utorrent is legal, but what you download using it depends. if it is copyrighted material like the latest films, music and you don't have permission to do so it is illegal but if you have permission it isn't. But as the saying goes if you download it. try it then buy it.(we don't all stand by that though all the time).

The software is legal but using it to make available copyrighted material for download is defintely illegal - and is more likely to get you in trouble than actually downloading it yourself; making it available is distribution in the eyes of the law.
As for problems - generally most torrent software requires you to open up your firewall to work at its best and that is an immediate security risk.

The only danger is that it can take ages to download a torrent. Have you found any good torrent sites yet?
The only one I know of is www.torrentspy.com

you probly find the file in your torrent software then write click open folder then drag too another folder on your computer. Be careful with torrents though. illegal

The software is legal, but the copyrighted material you download isn't.
Torrent sites can also be full of spyware / viruses so try downloading this first. http://www.siteadvisor.com/
