Talk to the guy that you really like and let him know that you are going out with the other friend But only to let him know that you are serious about the relationship that you are in w/ the guy that you really like. This is a way not to hurt anyone and to have everything out on the table. And if this doesn't stop him from flirting then have the boyfriend TALK to him.

What I think you should do is sit down one more time with your guy friend and explain to him nicely that you dont have feelings for him. Dont tell him you like him better as a friend because that will crush him the same as if you went out with his friend. Then you either could sit his friend down and tell him your feelings for him and ask him what you 2 should do about him, or ask your guy friend if it would be okay to ask out his guy friend.
Wooooo! Confusing! Good Luck hun!!!!

If you dont follow your heart you could find yourself very unhappy, dont do what is best for others, do what is best for you - take a chance. You need to let your friend know that nothing more will become of your relationship, sometimes you need to be really blunt for them to get the point, if he really cares for you he will undestand. Even though his feelings may be hurt you shouldnt give up on something you care about to make others happy. If he wants you to be happy, you seeing his friend is something he will get over, over time.

If ya'll have been close friends for that long and you haven't been in any kind of relationship other than being friends then you shouldn't have to worry about much. Since it is one of his friends then you really need to talk to your friend and explain how you feel for this new guy..... wouldn't you want someone to do the same thing?

First of all, I'd say we're friends and it's probablly never going to change, not in a mean or rude way though. And if you want to stay friends with him or not hurt his feelings, I wouldn't go out with his friend either. If you do, chances are you're eventually going to break up and you will have ruined a lifelong good relationship with with you guy friend.

If your friend truly loves you, he would give up everything just to see you everyday - including your affection towards him. One-way love will never work out. Don't force yourself to lose a great opportunity for love to bloom, just for a friend who is crushing on you. After all, a Mr. Right (the guy whom you like) do not appear very often. Don't sweat it. Everything will work out, even if something worse than worst happens.

Give yourself to the guy who likes you just once if and only if he'll set you up with his friend. He's given a lot of his time to you and probably feels a little hurt. Guys are whores, but they tend to keep their promises.

ask your friend and his friend to hang out with you and another girlfriend at the bowling alley or skating rink. Tell you g-friend to keep your personal friend occupied so that you can talked to te other person and see if you really have a shot. You friend might be blocking your action or protecting you from a bad relationship. ANyway, he likes ya! Set boundaries.

It sounds to me like a lose lose proposition.
Regardless of what you do, someone is going to get hurt.
I suggest a heart to heart with your close friend, and explain to him in no uncertain terms that you truly aren't interested in him romantically, you should also tell him that you are interested in his friend and then turn your eyes to other pursuits, if your desire is to truly avoid hurting him. There are lots more fish in the sea.
