YES, My cat is great when I'm having one. She senses when I'm not feeling well, and sits with me. An animal takes your mind off of the panic you're feeling. Good luck ~~~

They can be, unless your phobia is of cats. They will help you calm down and can provide "silent support" while you are experiencing a panic attack. They can also provide you with a sense of companionship so if you're panicking about being alone, they would help with that. Cats are a great stress reliever to have around and they are loyal friends.

domestic animals in general can be very therapeutic. petting the animal produces a calming effect on both you and the animal. i would suggest a dog or a cat for any person suffering from depression or panic attacks.

Yep, cats are very tightly wound animals liable to panic with the slightest fright.
I've heard cat meat makes a tasty stir fry as well. Maybe this would calm a person, I don't know....

It's scientificly proven that when you pat your cat and it's purring that your body pressure gets lower and that it calms you down... Cats always calm me, they are such cute animals you gotta love em!
