Do we all have a soul mate or is it all a myth designed to make us restless souls?

Just for clarification I believe I have found my soulmate, yet ultimately that is not the person I have ended up with as my life partner...!

I think it is a myth. Love starts with sexual attraction. Then if you marry or live with the person it becomes a habit . You feel good with that person and that person feels good with you. Then
the relationship turns into a family specially if you have kids. As you grow older together you become like brothers and sisters. Most marriages will fall apart at that point because either of the partners will start looking elsewhere for that sexual attraction they felt in the onset. Relationships that last are the ones that overcome that brotherly attraction feeling and still feel sexually attracted to each other.
My humble opinion.

I actually believe that everyone has a soul mate out there. I know I have found mine. I have been married for 15 years and could not imagine life without my guy. He makes me laugh and he's my best friend! I'm sure everyone has one, they just might take a lot longer to find!

I'm not sure...in my experience I've found guys who I can tolerate, those who I can tolerate a little more and those who in a million years I cannot. I'd love to believe there's someone like you out there and who you both believe to be each other's soulmates, however, I think it's just wishful thinking!

I think its possible that we do all have soulmates, but him upstairs is makining it difficult for us to find them as life would be boring if we all woke up and found our soulmates knocking on the door!

I think it is a fantasy, a wish, and a theoretical construct, but just one of many that we think about or believe in or not. People who believe they have such a thing, may have created it by their belief and desire, just as those who do not believe may prevent its manifestation in their own life.

If your "soulmate" and life partner are different persons, stick to your life partner.
Soulmates are ephemeral, life partners are real.
