Actually, a couple years ago they found an older version of revelations and now it looks like 666 as the number of the beast was a mistranslation. It's actually 616, with 666 representing Nero. The church dudes said it didn't matter what the number really was and the original spirit of the verses still stood.
Now that wouldn't fly too well in my faith. We demand accuracy in our translations and immediately correct any errors. But if representatives from many churches said it didn't matter, I guess it doesn't. Since I'm a non-christian it doesn't effect me. Who knows? In another 100 years they could find an even older one that says it's 999.
However, I do get a little giggle every time I see someone with "666" worked into a tattoo now. Wonder if they know what it supposedly really means.

Its found in Revelation 13:18 and its a number of a beast. The Bible uses beasts to symbolize beastly human governments, as is the case in Daniel chapter 7. Six represents imperfection. Seven designates perfection, and six is short of that and therefore is incomplete or imperfect. So, because six falls short of God’s perfect number seven, it is called a man’s number and attaches to the visible organization of men under Satan, the god of this world, who's organization is symbolized by the wild beast. That's a deep subject of the bible. Not readily or easily understood.

6 Signifies imperfection, something not normal, monstrous.
(Revelation 13:18; compare 2 Samuel 21:20.)
3 Denotes emphasis. Also indicates intensity.
(Revelation 4:8; 8:13; 16:13, 19)

Well, I don't know about what 666 represents, besides that it is "bad," which I don't believe anyway, but my suggestion to you is to answer one more question, and tada! 667.

"Six hundred, three score and six" is the Mark of the Beast from the Book of Revelation.
It is the number of a man called the destroyer, or in the greek, Abaddon.

You need it to get to 667 and higher otherwise you could only go so far in math and then have to stop.

I fear not, having met my mediator.
Nevertheless, upside down it does represents 999, and I only have 3 digits on my calculator. While your at it, please start on the Y10K issue. (After the environment, it will be Al G's next big movie)
Created in Gods image, as are we all....
