being rude vulgar or mean to them and the manager decides to refuse service to them and they refuse to move their car what would the police do if called? This happened the other day and we decided it was faster to just serve them even though they were awful .Really we would of liked to have them removed.Would we of had to fill out a complaint or would the police just told them to get lost.

The police would make them move and might do more. Chances are they were drunk. Customers don't have the right - although some think they do - to verbally abuse customer service employees. I will never understand why someone would aggravate someone preparing their food. I've seen disgruntled employees do all kinds of sick things.

you hav the right to refuse service, If they refuse to leave, then you can call the police and they can be issued a no tresspass statement, which basically tells them that they cannot come back onto the property. Next time get the persons name or license plate number and call the non emergency number for the local police. Tell teh person that answers the situation. The police will come out and get a statement, and then contact the person and should serve them a no tresspass statement. i would make it very obvious that you are getting the license plate number too. Send someone out and have them walk right around to teh back of the vehicle with pad and pen. More than likely they will also thing that it isn't worth it and leave.

As unfortunate as it is, the saying, "the customer is always right" would apply to ALL customers - rude or not. I'm not saying to cater to their rants and raves - but a certain amount of butt kissing to get the person done and gone is what's needed. You don't want to be labeled as the restaurant in town that refuses to serve people they don't like and have the cops called on them. Because that is the story that will surface - there is always a little truth in every lie and the more that the story is told, the grander it will become. Before you know it, you are the manager that cussed out Snow White and called the cops on her. Plus, unless you are an independent owner of your own restaurant, you too have a boss to answer to. You probablly wouldn't want to have to explain that one to him, ya know?

as my mother would say... "rise above it." This is a great lesson for your staff (and I would definately use it) to talk about what is customer service. In that situation, you are absolutely right to have served those terribles and I hope you did it with a smile. Your company should know what happened and how you serviced those who didn't deserve it. And make sure you give an "Award for the Most Amazing Employee Who Demonstrated Customer Service."

My hubby works at a club and the police come to remove drunk/rude customers all the time. You should do that next time. Sometimes, all it takes is a threat of 'If you don't stop/leave, I'm calling the police" and they are gone. If this doesn't work, follow through with it. They are defenders of the peace and these people didn't sound peaceful.

Thats a tough one.

Consider the age of the group - and chalk it up to bad manners (if they are young kids)

If you want to phone the police - remember - they will be at least a half hour - in a non-emergency/non-life threatening situation.

should you chose to call the police - you should first ask the people to pull over and tell them their order will a few minutes and that it will be brought out to them when ready - that way they are not blocking the path of others behind them.

Hurling vulgarities at people is considered "Assault" and is a punishable offense.
You are well in your rights to file a police complaint, and they probably will get arrested.
However, you're not doing your restaurant any favors by having this sort of chaos play out in the parking lot.
The unjust but more prudent way is to serve them and quickly get them out of there.

Great way to be caught by the police! Have them not go through all of the hard work of getting informants and decoding code names to catch you at an elusive address. Instead just make their lives much easier by selling them drugs along with a big mac. Of course your manager won't mind!

the police would tell them to get lost and never to come back. but if they disobeyed the police they would get arrested, which might be a good thing because it sounds like they need help. just treat people like that like they are mentally handi-capped, which they must be. normal people dont behave that way. at any rate, they are definitely headed for self-destruction as its an unreasonable and lowly behavior to pick on fast food workers.
