please speak to your vet about this the next time you go visit him/her. I am sure a small amount of toothpaste is alright but please be careful. Too much fluoride can be harmful. A little bit is alright but swallowing that isn't good to do everyday.
If there is a stomach problem with your cat, feed it a little bit of milk because that will bind with the fluoride ion in the cat's tummy and it will make the tummy feel better.

My cat hates the smell of it, but it's not really unusual for a cat to like it. Is it mint? Because catnip is part of the mint family. I know someone whose cat is always trying to eat menthol cigarettes (it's not the nicotine because she doesn't touch regular cigarettes, just menthol). Needless to say, they really have to watch her, lol.
But don't let him eat it. Fluoride can be toxic to cats if ingested.
Yikes! I read some more responses....DON'T give your cat milk! Cats are lactose intolerant and giving some to your cat would probably be the worst thing for an upset stomach.

I would imagine that what your cat likes is the mint in the toothpaste. Mint and catnip are in the same family of plants, and most cats that respond to one will respond to the other (although the most striking response is to catnip, of course). Some cats have very VIOLENT responses to mint, but most are pretty mild. You might consider getting some seed and growing mint and/or catnip plants in your home for your cat; a little bit of greenery is something that almost every cat likes, and they're very easy to grow.

Wow your cat loves the toothpaste?
Thats awesome.
Well I think that small quantities is good just not the BIG quantities and even the small quantities should also be small, within a certain time. Like not every day. maybe within a week. Just to be on the safe side.

It is probably the mint that attracts him to it....catnip is in the mint family as well. You should not give it to him as floride can be poisonous to pets. That is why they make special toothpaste for pets. The tiny amount you gave him should not cause any harm, but I would not make a habit of giving it to him as it can make him sick. I suggest getting him some catnip.

I would just let him lick your face and dispense with the toothpaste "treat". Who knows what a steady diet of that might do to a cat.

A tiny amount like that probably wouldn't do anything. Maybe your cat likes mint. There is a plant called Cat Mint you can get for him (very similar to cat nip). He would probably love that.

Yes... don't give him human toothpaste. Its the flouride and other chems in our toothpaste that wrecks havoc in their tummies. That's why we have speacial toothpastes made only specifically for cats. :)

They have tooth paste for cats. I don't think there is anything to bother the cat in it. May be you should get him his own.

no a tiny bit won't harm him at all.......it would only harm him if he ate like half a tube, it would block his stomach.
