I have four children. They are four, six, seven, and fifteen. I have no clue what to do anymore. I have a job making fourteen dollars an hour and work a lot of over time. Since I got my raise I no longer qualify for Medicad or food stamps. My kids NEED insurance. I don’t know what to do anymore. Before I was able to get help but now it seems the more money I make the harder it gets. I need help getting on my feet but it seems like there is no help out there. Anyone with advice of where to go for help or with experience please answer. Thank You!

What state are you in? Colorado has a program called CHP+ that will cover uninsured children who don't qualify for Medicaid. The premiums are based on your income and the copays are between$2-$10 depending on your income. Some procedures like immunizations and well child check ups and dental visits are free. Google "Free or Low-cost Health insurance for children (your state)" or call your local health care clinic or medicaid office for a referral. Good Luck!

I been there don that. Call Childs Insurance Goes by your income very reasonable I can't think of the name but it is with Community first right under Medicade. As for as food may be able to apply for food assistance or food stamp. Local churches give out food and clothing shoes for kids many programs get into that will help you with school supplies school starts. Do This just until you can save up some money That you would not have to worry. Your Good mMom Taking care of your kids!!!!!!!!!1

If I were you, I wouldn't have told the office I got a raise. They count EVERYTHING against you. I'd try to fib it a little.. you know.. get a coworker to sign a paper saying you were demoted (back to regular pay) or make one up yourself with a phone number that contacts a friend of yours who can lie for you, etc. OR tell the office you lost your job, get someone to sign the papers lying for you... damn, i do just about anything I can to make sure my son has insurance and we're getting the help we need. The US doesn't make it easy for single mothers, you gotta do what you gotta do, ya know?

Put them on your work insurance and just keep working hard remembering not to show your kids any less attention. It will not get easier over night but you will notice your budget working out for you. Plus don't forget the most important thing if you believe in God remember to pay your tithes so that you won't have any curses on your money because if you robb God then you will never get ahead.

See if a church or the Salvation Army can help you. The rich get all the benefits in this country.
