lol this is a little bit awkward sooo let's just all be mature about this, please.

valentine's day is very close and i would love to take pretty, nude pictures for the SO. my body is fine, not worried about that, i just got done with a full, conditioning-filled season of gymnastics, lol, soo that's not a problem. any specific like makeup or hair tips or anything like that is welcome though! (although this may not be the place to pose that question.) i have a decent digital camera and adobe photoshop elements. i would love any tips/tricks/whatever on taking pics of the nude form ... and it's going to be me taking pictures of myself, so that presents a problem as well.

not sure where to start with this, so if you have any comments at all, i would love to hear them. thanks SO much,

Don't use flash.....the best, easiest and most predictable light is natural lighting. So if you have a place where you can be during the day, well lit room, you'll be set. The light around 1 hour or less before sunset is the best for skin tones.

Too much make up gets too porny.....less is more. Simple lines are key.....so don't frill it up with too much hair work or try anything original or extravegant with make up. Just....keep it simple, and do it up enough so that you feel beautiful, but no need to go beyond that.

Tripod....if you don't have one, get one....even if it's that little tiny version. Setting the camera up on a table will limit your location and your creativity.

Have a beginning and end point.....like an essay, a composition, that is what makes it art.

Be a lady....since you just had a season of gymnastics, I'm guessing you must be young and dating. Don't give away TOO much. Be beautiful, be sexy, but don't trash it up. Don't present yourself like an object, don't try and sum your beauty up into 3 commonly unseen parts. Again...less is more. A person can have 100 nude photos taken of them and never show anything rated R.....so keep that in mind.

AND....although I hope you are in love for the rest of your lives.....keep in mind that most relationships don't end up working out, and if you must part with your photos someday....make sure they aren't the kind you would ever feel the need to hide or be ashamed to show.

Have fun :)

lighting is very important, practice and study and work on it till you get that where you like it...then work on acting natural, or posing natural, perhaps even a bit alluring...if you can find a painting called Persephone, done by a kansas artist during the depression, the way she is posed...never mind the wino looking on...the artist had a few issues perhaps, but her pose is a good one for a nude photograph as well as painting.
you've picked out quite a project for yourself...it will probably be more work than you think, but i think you can do it, good luck.

I agree - light and shadow are very important. Make sure to use a light that is off to the side and above you. if you use a camera flash it will fatten the image because the light is headed directly towards you.
as for hair and make up , nothing over done, you don't want to look too glam. Something natural.

Make sure to use diffused non direct lighting, the angle up or down can either harden, or soften your features, it just depends on what you look like, further ..make sure you wear nice lingeree. not just the run of the mill trampy stuff. the obvious are hair and make up. hope this helps. Ps..if you are under 21..delete this advice and Worry more about you then him :) good luck

Shots w/ the arms above the head always come out well—makes the breasts look higher. Depending on the look you're going for you could also experiment with full body makeup, i.e. foundation/powder all over.

The photos will only turn out great if the artist who took them is great. I would suggest finding a very good photographer. One with experience doing boudoir pics. Good luck with this.

Light and shadow is the answer for good nude pics.

Suggest a lot, but don't actually show a lot.
