you can date anyone of any age if you wanted to, But if you have sex with the fellow it is rape against the man. once you are 18 you can date anyone of any age with no worries. Mo.

I don't know specific state laws and you can look it up as easily as anyone else can, but typically it's not a good idea for a minor and non-minor to date however it's not illegal unless sex is involved (and then the minor's parents could get the non-minor in a lot of trouble).
No need to worry about it yet though...as you said he's not yet 17 so you've got over a year before this is an issue, and a LOT can happen in any relationship (esp a teen one) in that amount of time.

A minor is anyone under the age of 18. So it would be illegal to date him when he turns 18 but if youre sure nobody will report him then I feel its ok. Since it is only 3 years age difference.

I think its 17 actually for sex and its 18 for dating period. Why dont you just get your parents to approve of the guy? and if they already do it shouldnt be a problem but either way your 14 and you will meet alot of other guys.

I think its 16 with parental conscent. However the best way to find out is the call the children's aid society. Do it from a pay phone, if you want to or talk to your parents and ask them to call. They have the laws and can give you a proper answer. I am glad you are asking questions this is good, but don't be afraid to talk to the childrens aide they enjoy helping people. Take care Heather

u can date him but u cant have sex with him becuz that will be considered rape becuz he is an adult n u r a minor........for u n him to have sex u have to wait until u r 16 or 17........
