I look through here and see so many proud patriotic people make their view be known on what they think of immigrants, illegal or not. Look back a few generations did you all originate from your country? Many proud Americans today should remember that their great, great, great, grandfathers were also immigrants and probably arrived on boats from Great Britain, Ireland, and many other European or African etc countries.

Is an illegal immigrant some one who does not have a doctorate? People with them are allowed in to any country they like at the drop of the hat? Are they not taking a job that an existing citizen could of had?

I'd just like to respond to what someone else said.

Just because we now have terms legal and illegal doesn't make it true. There are people who have had a problem with legal immigrants, how about the Native Americans. It was legal for the colonizers to immigrate here and commit atrocious acts of GENOCIDE.

Many people that you call illegal immigrants have more of a right to be on this land than you think. Remember that before colonization Mexico and the U.S. were one place. We were all Native peoples so people from Mexico have a right to return to their homeland.

I understand your sentiment but those days they have not named US or Australia and those great great great grandfathers name them. Now since we have a country name and origin then you should stay in your country.
My parents came from India and took the citizenship and gave birth to us here. But I cannot be Indian citizen and only a citizen of my country of birth. So my generation start here and my roots have to be here, so we have to find work to support the family here. Of course we don't like people from other countries to come and take away our job. I like competition but it got to be fair, many immigrants come and take a low salary which we cannot afford to pay our monthly bills. For them it is huge because they convert to rupees and pay their bills in rupees. To make it worse they will stinge and stay miserably to save money for 2 or 3 years and they go back as a rich man. Where we cannot do that as we have to stay here for rest of our life. You see the point why people hate immigrants. I have seen many people like that and even my bosses are like that too. They have fatter pay and benefits and we local work like day & night and then they leave after 2 or 3 years once they get posted somewhere else. We have to stay here and once again work day & night to prove to the new boss.
It is even worse for illegal imigrants because they dont have bargaining power to demand thier salary as many crude bosses pay them so low that robbed a innocent man salary.
Come on dude don't stay in a dark and come out to face the reality.

I haven't heard anyone having a problem with legal immigrants. My ancestors came legally, and the latest of them to come gave land and built a school and a church with their neighbors, passing the hat for a teacher and preacher.

An illegal immigrant is someone who ignores our limits on immigration, and impacts our schools and services after our laws say 'enough'.

And yes, having education makes it more likely any country, including this one, would let you immigrate. Unlike some countries, we do accept SOME poor, but we have to subsidize them. We have every right to say how many are enough.
