You can not download Microsoft products for free.
However having said that may I introduce you to Open Office.
For legal reason I must point out that in no way is Open Office attached to Microsoft in anyway, the two product are formed by different companies.
However the two products are very much the same:

Open office includes:

Open Excel
Open Presentation (PowerPoint)
Open Word
Open Access
Open Publisher

It can also be download for free.

Not legally, since it's a commercial product. You can probably download a trial version from microsoft.com though.
