Why can you make fun of catholics but not Muslims?

You see it in the news, you read it in papers, you read it on the internet, and see it in everyday life. Christians being made fun of, christ depicted in a newspaper cartoon with hitler, comments on tv, and hey we all laugh about it, and for the most part its hilarious!

But why then...if we do the same thing to muslims? omg, "its not allowed, allah would never allow that! Muhammad with a bomb on his head, by heavens NO! Not my beloved Muhammed with a bomb on his head! why would they do this?" well there is some truth in all religion stereotypes! And we see bombings, killings beheadings, MAINLY with muslims! Not buddists, not atheists, not catholics, but MUSLIMS.....so how come if we make fun of the muslim religon, you get so bent out of shape? Are you not secure with your religion?

Many peole use faith as a guide, But muslims seem to be living in the past! A way of live two centuries is not the way now! U dont beat your wife, or cut the hand off of someone that steals.

Do i have respect for religion? of course! Can i step out side the box and look at it from different perspectives, and laugh at scenarios of course i can! I dont live by a piece of paper that has been transcribed over 5000 times, and allow that piece of paper to run my life, tell me who to kill, or beat, in the name of that piece of paper.... thats the way it was centuries ago, not nowadays, as humans u need to think with your mind, and not make actions based on a transcription. Every religion has the right to believe what they want.... But they do NOT have the right to harm anyone else, that is the action of a cult/gang, not a peaceful and respected religion.

Muslims use their religion as an excuse for violence.. Here's a cartoon about Allah, now here's an excuse to go and kill 1,000 innocent people... Pathetic I think, BEWARE the time of false religions is upon us... Notice how the TWO newest religions known to us are marking all the noise, Islam has still got the wrappers on it whilst Christianity is straight out of the box .. When your beliefs are over 40,000 years old , and still alive, you can make some noise then, but it won't be....

As a Muslim, I wouldn't want anyone making fun of my religion, maybe others do not understand my beliefs... but still you do not make fun of our religion..make fun as much as you with Jihadists..but not with our Prophet who we believe was a great person.. nor with our God who we believe is The Greatest,most merciful...
Yes, many Muslims are causing chaos.. those are wrong, those have lost the true meaning of Islam..you talk of them as much you want..

We have severe punishments because the action committed is big, and the only way to stop it is either by having an inner voice that stops you from doing what's wrong, or by having a great punishment..it makes you think twice doesn't it? In Islam for those punishment to happen you need great proof, and our prophet told us to try to find out in any way that what we have committed is not a sin against God...

Beating wives/women is a universal thing, and this is happening in Islamic countries because Muslims strayed away from Islam, believing false accounts..

Because we love and respect our prophet. Of course I dont say we should kill anyone who says anything about islam but i would never laugh it off. I couldn't laugh anything off about Jesus either. and I'm surprised christians do. If someone insulted your mother to your face would you stay quiet? If you would walk away saying nothing, that is more power to you but you wouldn't be surprised if someone reacted agressively. Maybe you do not know respect if you have to ask this question. its not that we are not secure--if i wasn't i wouldn't care that much. But my religion says that anyone who loves the Prophet (pbuh) is loved by Allah. We dont speak his name except out of respect adding, without giving him salaam and respect. muslims shouldn't react in the way they do but nonmuslims should learn some respect.
Muslims are not supposed to beat their wives. the Prophet never beat his wives and there are many hadith that state that you should not beat your wife. The verse that mentions beating your wives is only for wives that are cheating. and it says to admonish them first, and then leave their bed. if after all this they still continue, beating is the last resort.the scholars that say it means "beat" say that you can not hit her hard enough to bruise or in the face. most scholars interpret this verse like this but it is just as possible the word "daraba" does not mean beat. it can also mean to physcially leave and is used in other verses in this context. this makes more sense too because if everything the wife did not stop cheating why would she stop by getting beaten?
As for cutting the hand off of a theif--maybe its too harsh but its effective. People are too afraid to steal in islamic countries because of this law. Its ridiculous looking at this law that some people even accuse of Muhammad (pbuh) being a theif.

I don't really think they care that much but it gives them an excuse to jump around a fire and break stuff. They steal other peoples stuff and tear up their stuff which is stealing, in a way.
I mean I would consider it stealing if someone broke my stuff.
They are just really primitive and use religon as an excuse to be barbaric. I mean they are back in cave man days.

I don't have any respect for any of the people who have overbearing religious beliefs and look down on people who don't share those beliefs. Don't care whether it is catholic, christian, or muslim or jew.
