if i were to keep these flowers out of water overnight for one night and then give them to the person i was going to give them to the next morning, would they be alright or would they end up looking like crap?

put them in water or who ever you give them to will probably hit you with them

It would depend on root structure of the flowers and how much watering and fertilizing were done before you picked them. Since sometimes you may not know, I would put them in water with equal parts of 1 can of 7 Up or Sprite and one (any type) aspirin or Tylenol. You will definitely have fresh flowers in the morning. Remember to get the freshest look on them that you can and keep them away from a vent where heat comes through.

it depends on the flower. I say you can wad up about 15 or 20 paper towels, soak them in water, and place them around the bottom of the bouquet with a rubberband. Make sure they are refrigerated as well. Hope that works for you.

They'd probably be wilty..flowers don't do well for long without at least some water and keeping them cool (not cold) helps as well...why can you not at the very least wrap them (the stems) in some wet paper towels?

just wrap a wet paper towel at the bottom of them if you dont want to put it in water, it would just make them look like crap faster and maybe wilt a little
