First thing's first...Do you have a diffuser for your blow-dryer? Second...Is your hair layered?Even if it's just face-framing long layers. This will make a BIG difference.Third...Diffuse your hair upside down, placing the diffuser as close as possible to your scalp without burning yourself. And most important, once product has been applied and you start the diffusing process,DON'T TOUCH! This will cause FRIZZING!!!!Let the diffuser do the work for you.Once most of the moisture is out of your hair, flip over and see if there is enough volume where you want it.If it's there just continue diffusing right-side up.

Get one of those banana-clip things (not the ones that curl around, just the ones with little teeth.)
Clip them in your hair and let it dry a while to reduce the weight and let it get some volume while it dries. It doesn't have to be in the whole time--5-10 minutes will help. You can put in a few clips, or move the one clip back and forth while it's drying (try not to do this in public, though. You'll look a little goofy.)
Also, go easy on conditioner on your roots, and try a volumizing gel spray on your roots for a little extra help.

The absolute best product for this is Sexy Hair Concepts (Like Big Sexy) What A Tease-Backcomb in a bottle. It makes your hair just like if you teased it up. You can try root lifting products, like Redken Guts, but you have to use those on wet hair and its harder to get the effect you want.
