I though I'd share this article about sleep deprivation in teens. I think it has a good message and it brought back horrible memories of my 7th grade year. It made me stressed out just reading about it! What's your opinion on the matter?

I think sleep deprivation is much more widespread in teens than parents realize. Our doctor told us that teens actually need as much sleep as newborn babies because their bodies are changing and growing so much. My son, who is sixteen now, slept every spare moment for several years. I was concerned about him, but the doctor told me not to stress over it, because all that sleep was good for him. Now that he's a little older and his growth spurts have slowed down, he's resumed a more normal sleeping routine.

i grow to be having alot of stress in the previous dozing and ought to no longer nod off. Had many many sleepless nights. i grow to be basically taking area in with this methodology one afternoon and needed to take heed to the potential Nap music. next aspect I knew i grow to be waking up! Fell actual asleep without attempting. After utilising the Fall Asleep music, i ought to nod off right now. yet i did not comprehend that I should not be utilising that one all evening. Switched to entire evening and characteristic been utilising it ever considering. i can bypass to sleep conveniently now. I basically lay and hear the sounds and next aspect i understand i'm waking up from a impressive sleep. i do not conflict through from lack of sleep anymore. I keep an IPod with earbuds next to my mattress and take it continually at the same time as travelling. The earbuds help block out ambient noise and the sleep tracks keep me dozing sound :) Reboot your mind & sleep soundly again?

I believe that parents push their kids to hard. Others give them free rein. Limit one sport per year and one extra thing whether it be a job, club, etc. I am a teen who needs around 9hrs of sleep to be happy and healthy. I get strep throat if I get less than 8hrs of sleep more than 3 days in a row. Sleep is a good thing! Thanks for posting this!
