I hate that my undershirts get these stains. What causes them?

It's not in your sweat, it's your deodorant.

UPDATE: Latter poster stated urea as the cause, however the source she listed confirmed it was deodorant, not urea. It mentioned urea was present in sweat, but did not cite it as the cause of stains.

The underarms and the feet are the two areas of the body with the most sweat glands, this concentration causes an increase in the amount of urea/sweat secreted like was previously mentioned. Both men and women get these stains, but men tend to wear tight undershirts and usually have more vigorous jobs that cause sweating such as construction work, firefighter and/or be George Bush. I would suggest wearing undershirts without sleeves, A-shirts or wifebeaters whatever people call them.

I'm with Rachel's answer. You should be able to have a dissenting opinion without anyone getting offended. If they do get offended it's likely a problem they have with their own faith. I mean I've seen some answers on R&S that I'd stay away from (i.e., Rachel's sky daddy comment, or the "I treat christians like children becuase they've proven that they can't reason, etc). The right words: You've had an experience that means something to you. I can appreciate that. I have not had this experience. I can't force it. I can't make myself believe. Therefore this is what I believe. This is of course doesn't change your beliefs, but I hope you can understand why I believe the way I do. Something like that maybe.

Bacteria, mostly.

That is, your sweat is a veritable feast for them
and they are what create the most distinctive
part of the smell as well.

Could be something in your diet, too. Do you smoke?
