Of course so called TRUE CHRISTIANS are selfish. That's the nature of man and sin that we prefer our selves surely. We do as Christians have to confess our sin because sin causes a barrier. The initial barrier is broken down when we come to Christ but although we change our minds and turn from sin, we still sin. So this means we MUST continue to confess sin because its then a barrier to fellowship with Jesus. It's an on going walk in which we are called to righteousness.

Your point of course that Christians want others saved is true. We get nothing from it and I don't believe we can lose our salvation. You could say that it's possible Christians want others saved because we want to be right. But I don't agree. That's a very soul seeking point. I think its a love thing my self. I have felt that Love thing lol for people I don't even like. The only way I can describe it is like the feeling when you have small children and they get to close to the sea wall. You get that horrible tight feeling in your chest and a sort of longing that isn't satisfied until you grab them from the edge.

The fact is that ALL CHRISTIANS are humans and perfection isn't for now. Jesus is the only man who has been perfect and as God he is already. The good thing is that God the father can look at his children through the saving work that God the son did and see us as perfect because Jesus met all the criteria needed.

I hope this answers some of your points

I can understand how a Christian who has just come close to God would be wanting to share this experience with everyone. And it is natural, and anything but selfish, to feel that, since you found your closeness to God this way, it must be the way everyone can find it, too.

The problem comes in when you realize that Christianity is not everyone's spiritual path. And then comes the real test, not just for Christians, but for anyone on a spiritual path whose teacher has said, "Judge not, lest ye be judged." You must let another continue on their particular spiritual path, even if it appears to you that that path will not lead the person to God. Why? Because there is great wisdom in those words of Jesus. We don't have a God's eye view of the situation. There may be a reason this person does not take the Christian path now, no matter how much you may desire that they do. So you must go on your way, still treating this other the way you would be treated, for this is the Second Commandment of Jesus, and a wise one upon which you base your life.

Peace be with you.

I'm not sure I understand your question entirely. But any good person wants the best for everyone else. I am a Christian, and I do want everyone to be saved. I want people to go to Heaven.

As far as Atheists go, I assume that it depends on the person. Someone with a lot of understanding would probably guess that a Christian, or anyone else for that matter, trying to save them, is wanting what said person thinks is best.

I hope I helped. GOD loves you!

You can't 'save' someone, you only think we're going to hell is because someone else told you that non christians do. You can't force someone to believe something that seems ridiculous to them. So no, of course you're not being selfish, but you do have to respect others beliefs. I happen to think if God exists, to create someone and give them free will, being all knowing, knowing they will live life not choosing to be a christian and end up in certain situations then sending them to hell for it? If 'God' would do that, he sounds like a very disturbed individal, and I don't want to involved with groups that are that discriminating and judgemental.

It is an unselfish thing. If what you mean by "Christian" is what I think you mean then given what you have come to believe, it is not only sensible but ethical to want to share this.

It is worth bringing in to question, however, whether any individual can ever be said to be complete in their salvation. Everyone has at best made an attempt to come to grips with the greater questions of life, and it seems to me that the best we can ever hope to reasonably accomplish is to introduce people to the questions of life, love and faith and to offer an open ear and a willingness to discuss our own approach to these questions.

Maybe that's enough. =)

That's a good question!!! Well you can't force someone to believe in God. I think what people mean by that is that we Christians try too hard. We won't leave people alone that don't believe in God. Sure we try to help them on the right path, but then after a while we are basically forcing them to believe in God. So by selfish I think you mean that we are always trying to get more people on our side. There is nothing wrong with it. It just annoys some people! Hope this helps!!!

It is like if the bank was giving away a million dollars to everyone that came down by a certain time. Now a selfish person, would just go down and get his money, who cares if anyone else gets anything. However a selfless person would go share this information even if nobody believes him. Christians believe it is their duty to share the gospel, for it is great news for those that receive it.

Did you ever think that maybey WE DON'T WANT TO BE BLOODY SAVED!?!? We can think for ourselves, YOU are the ones who need saving from your crazy beliefs. There is no god, when you die you will be dead for ever, no heaven, no nothing, Religion is just a way of denying the fact that death is both inevitable and permenant. You will find out soon enough.

Our great commission here on earth is to preach the gospel about God's love and salvation to all people and to all nations.i never encounter a selfish christian in my entire life. What do you mean by selfish and in what way does a christian selfish.I can say a christian be selfish if he/she doesn't share the word of God to his family, friends and relatives. We can identify a true christian with their fruit.if we don't share the word of God we are accountable to them and God will judge us of what we have done here on earth. If a christian warn the unbeliever and did not pay attention to him he is not accountable to his blood.
