Any ideas? I don't want to wait until the last second to sell for obvious reasons but I need my car until I leave.

Make it a condition of sale that they don't take possession until the day you move. Also that the sale will be void if you should happen to wreck the car in the meantime of course.

Make the sale conditional to the buyer taking possession on the day you want them to.
Get a down payment and hold it 'in escrow' (don't touch these funds in case something happens to the car before you transfer possession).
Collect the remainder of the payment upon transfer of possession.
Put it all in writing.

you could try a short term sale on ebay or in the local paper where you live now. sometimes that works or maybe take it to an auction house if there is one nearby. I have been to one of those auctions before and stuff really goes fast there.
