Army basic training is more difficult. But don't fool yourself into thinking that the Air Force is a cakewalk. We (Marines) like to kid our cousins, but the truth is all of the services are physically, mentally & emotionally demanding. Ours is the toughest of the basic trainings, but none of them are easy.

The Army is harder, but then it's mission is different. Each is geared to suit the mission of the particular branch. The Air Force did add a 'Warrior Week' to basic after 9/11 in which recruits go out under field conditions and 'get tactical'. They undergo basic weapons training and such.

I never had to go through Air Force basic because I was a former Marine. My understanding is that AF basic is changing dramatically because of the types of wars we are fighting now.
For all of you ignorant jerks who think the Air Force is filled with a bunch of wussies, wake up and get a clue. Air Force special operators are some of the toughest, most highly trained and disciplined people on the planet. AF operators are imbedded with Recon, SEALS, Delta, and Army SF. They are typically the first in.
Shut your friggin cakeholes if you don't know what you are talking about.

The army is harder. Join the air force; stay on the ground and die in bed.

Air Force is 2 weeks shorter than the Army's and that is only basic! My understanding is they have no weapons portion! That does not include Advanced Infantry Training!
