Swelling should have gone down after the first week, though everyone is different. If you have a ring or a CBR, it could be adding to your problem because often they get knocked around and can cause irritation and swelling to worsen. If the ring itself is too big or too small you can be having issues due to that.
Take an over the counter anti-inflammatory aid such as Motrin or Midol (even for guys it helps) and make sure you are cleaning the piercing with mild soap (Dial-the regular gold kind, Satin) and water on the outside (twice a day) and nothing else but sea salt soaks or Biotene on the inside (after eating, drinking, smoking).
If you are using regular or diluted mouthwash, rubbing alcohol, peroxide, Bactine, neosporin or other harsh cleaners, discontinue use immediately because those products could be adding to your problem.
If the swelling doesn't go down in another week or so, consult the person who pierced it or even another local piercer and see if a change of jewelry from a ring to a labret stud makes a difference. Also keep an eye out for bleeding, green colored puss/discharge, the area to become heated and painful- all are signs of infection and should not be ignored. Good luck with your problem
Edit: Some discharge is normal, it should be clear or whitish and will dry to a yellowish crust. Its called lymph and is nothing to worry about. Only when it becomes bright yellow, green or contains blood should you worry.

my lip didnt swell for about a day after i had it pierced
the puss is not an infection its normal
just keep cleaning it with salt water on the outside and mouthwash on the inside (preferably a non alcohol based one)
it will go down with time if you still dont think its right in a couple of days go get it checked by ur piercer

bathe the lip in salt water. Rinse often. The tiny pus is a beginning infection.
You can use ice to help reduce the swelling a little.
I have used colloidal silver to help with a variety of infections. You can get it at a health food store.
Good luck

That your lip is still swollen. This is normal. Give it a week or two and your lip will have more room to move around on the bar. This happened to me also.

If you are getting pus then it is infected. See a doctor for antibiotics (if your doctor is liberal enough not just to tell you to take it out) Use Hydrogen peroxide to clean it (do not swallow) and use Ice to lower the swelling.
