It isnt good for the liver

In the tonic like that it's fine, but when you are cleansing the liver, eating a lot of black pepper is an irritant partially because of the heat, partially because of the shape of the pepper. It does not break down or digest and can get lodged in the liver, bile ducts or intestines and irritate them. But there are many Ayurvedic and Chinese remedies like Trikatu that use the pungency of black pepper to enkindle Agni, digestive fire. When we're flushing we're already irritating the liver enough, so take a break on the days of a flush.

According to this website its very good for you, which is good because I love black pepper. Some people say it is a carcinogen when heated but I haven't seen much evidence for this.

I even have heard that floor pepper that has been stored for an prolonged time is undesirable for a guy's prostate. The oils flow rancid and impact the prostate. men would desire to in basic terms use freshly floor pepper.
