ATTENTION: After answering this question, please google up Bible or Qur'an contradictions and really look in to it. Both of these books contradicts itself mutiple times...... I used to be a preacher(stongly believed in the bible) at my church, I taught sunday school, I attended church like 4 or 5 times a week, and I was raised to believe in God/The Bible. But the day I googled up bible contradictions I've learned that it's all untrue, and when I truly thought about it alot of it doesn't makes since. For example: The story about Job, God is all knowing & Satan knows that God is all knowing(James 2:19). Why would Satan make a deal with God for he could get Job to curse God? Satan(an ex angle) knows that God already knew that Job wouldn't curse him, why make the deal? Would you make a bet with someone that already watched a game and you knew he watched it? No, because it wouldn't make since to do such a thing......anyways, google up bible contradictions..You'll be amazed!

Oh please! All of you atheists on Y!A seem to parrot almost the exact same story, and you expect us to believe that it is your own original story. Most of you say that you were raised in a Christian home, read the Bible many times, taken seminary classes, etc., but most of your comments betray a lack of basic knowledge about either the Christian faith or the Bible. Most of you have stories that are so full of contradictions and inconsistencies that you are impossible to believe (seems that you have a double standard here, since the Bible has fewer inconsistencies than the ones in your own life stories that you all keep posting here).
Has it ever occurred to you that you are not the first person in the past 2000+ years that puzzled over the story of Job? Do you think that people haven’t written loads of books and commentaries on both sides of the issue? For every alleged inconsistency in the Bible or Christianity that you can point out, I can find a rebuttal in just a few minutes with Google.
The Bible has been over-analyzed, attacked, scrutinized, and picked at for thousands of years, and this is the best criticism that anyone can come up with? Nit-picking at marginal issues, or pointing out minor scribal errors (the ancient equivalent of the typo)? If the Bible had any major difficulties in it, then why do people have such a hard time finding any after thousands of years of trying?
Why do atheists think that Christians will abandon their faith based on a transparent “straw-man” arguments? We all know that you are misrepresenting what we teach and believe.
For example, James 2:19 does NOT say that Satan knows that God is "all knowing". Satan is an egotist who thinks that HE is all knowing (kind of like most atheists assume that they know everything). And there is noting in Job that suggests that God is gambling with Job's soul, or that Satan is betting, either. I think that you don't comprehend what you read. And besides, why would Satan assume that a mere mortal like Job would be too strong to ever curse God?
I won't go into detail about my take on Job, because it would take too long, and you have obviously made up you mind already.
I just don't see why you atheists waste time post leading rhetorical questions which obviously misrepresent both your own background, and Christian beliefs. Like we can't see through it.

Apparently you didn't study the bible properly, had you done so , you would of found that there are NO contradictions in the Bible. I have studied it out and haven't found any.
About the Quran, I have heard that there are many, However, I would need further proof of this.
As for satan, he is prideful and pride will always keep you butting heads with authority even when you know that it isn't going to do you any good. I did as you said and googled. All I found was devil made foolishness. There are many evidences outside of the Bible to support it's authenticity You need to do some more studying, I believe that it would be a great help to you. You may want to ask yourself if there was anyone else in the history of mankind that overcame death like Jesus. Mohammed is dead, so is Buddah, Mary is dead, Confucious, where is he? Jesus is the only God that is alive. I pray that you will not falter in your search, In Jesus Name Amen.

Satan knows God is all knowing where did you get that? Even if that is the case, how does that imply Satan knows what Job will do? Satan didn't have the bible written out in front of him to read. Even if he did know what was going to happen, maybe Satan just wanted to inflict pain on Job. There is no condractions in scripture, just misunderstadings. The Qur'an however is not God ordained therefore not true.

The point is that the holy texts aren't lies, if they are looked at in the way they were intended to be looked at.
They are lessons in faith, not scientific and historical essays. (though some elements of science and history are present)
The books don't define God, as God can't be defined in a small number of pages. The books don't completely define the universe; how could something that is contained completely describe what the outside of the container looks like? How could it describe what's outside of the container altogether?
Scripture is but a map; it is not the place.

i think of Christians question its validity because of the fact we are instructed to aim the spirits. nicely, the Quran is going against theory as Jesus is God's son. So below this on my own they have have been given to reject it as a faux "spirit" additionally, the way the Quran became provided to Mohamed - even he puzzled if he became being lie to by using a Shaytan. i've got not got something against Muslims and that i do have confidence there are a number of that stay very pious lives.

I believe in the Bible. These so-called Bible contradictions have been asked for 2,000 years and they have been answered for just as long. For every web-site which lists them there is a web-site which explains them. I like Norm Geislers writings.
So many peopel post questions with a "gotca" tone to them....the happy news is their questions are old news and have have been answered. The Good News is TRUE!
Keep in a mind...just because something is difficult to understand doesn't mean it is a contradiction.
I am sorry your faith was weakened. Mine was strengthened!!

A list of 384 contradictions in the bible:
http://skepticsannotatedbible.com/contra/by_name.html
(I love how christians thumb-down this but never explain why)
The same site has quran contradictions too - a lot less, probably because a lot less people are familiar with it who aren't afraid to criticize it.

Welcome to the enlightened group. Our group is growing by leaps and bounds as more and more people realize the brainwashing they got as children, and the fallacies of the bible, koran and the teachings of their religious leaders. Maybe in another couple hundred years, the majority of religions will die off.
