You need to realize the difference between an index to Texas deaths, and the actual records themselves.
www.rootsweb.com has a couple of things under "searches". One is a Texas index that covers from the mid 60's to more recent. You can also tweak the social security death index with advanced search. You can set it to look for all persons of a surname who died in that county; or leave the name blank, and pull up all persons. For the most part, the two indexes should match, but reality wise, they probably won't. It all depends on the date you need.
There was an independent site that had the indexes from 1903 to 1950's, but it changed format and I haven't been able to use it.
I am not aware of anywhere online that you can look at the actual death records themselves. For the Corpus Christi area, you MIGHT be able to search them in person at the county courthouse, although I am skeptical on that.
Certificates are on microfilm at the Dallas library.
Feel free to email me at researchbug@sbcglobal.net if I can help further.

You can view Texas death records for free between the years 1964-1998. They are available on Rootsweb. Here is the link;

http://vitals.rootsweb.com/tx/death/search.cgi

This is an index with dates only and the county of death. There is no cause of death listed, but it is definitely a first step in obtaining a death certificate. If all you need is a confirmation of the death date, this would be a good FREE way to find out.

I hope you find what you are looking for. Good luck!!

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://bitly.im/aNEbk

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

You can sign-up for a 14-day free trial period of Ancestry.com and search there: http://www.epodunk.com/cgi-bin/record-search-birth.php?locIndex=26309 You might also try the Texas Department of State Health Services, at http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/vs/default.shtm

Perhaps you can find the information on the internet. But to see the details you will have to pay for it.
