You can fly with Harbour Air from downtown Victoria to Downtown Vancouver for the quickest easiet trip. It's about 20 minutes.

Or you can take a ferry. It's about 1 and 20 minutes and a drive out of both Victoria and Vancouver. NIce scenery though, and usually sealions and porposes can be seen, as well as the odd whale.

Your options are the ferry, or flying. The ferry roughly runs every hour to Victoria and every 2 hours to Nanaimo.

They need to build a bridge. Given there is no other option but the ferry, they could charge an arm and a leg toll on it. They could put one through mid island, the problem is that is away from the Island's bigger populations. The trip still would be shorter than the wait times you have on the ferry in the summer. And compared to the bridge to PEI, Vancouver Island is an easier bridge to build and the population is 5 to 10 times that of PEI.

No there is no bridge and I for one hope there never is. The ferry waits can be long but it's pretty easy to make a reservation.
For starters, it would be pretty hard to make a bridge that was earthquake proof, and it would have to go across one of the gulf islands and that would never happen. A bridge would ruin the slight isolation Vancouver Island has, and that would be a tragedy. I don't want Victoria to become the next suburb of Vancouver.

A ferry or a plane are your only options, there is no bridge. Check out http://www.bcferries.bc.ca/ for ferry schedules. It's about 1 hour and 35 minutes on the boat from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay. (Vancouver to Victoria). They do take reservations.

You can drive from Vancouver to Seattle and then take the Victoria Clipper from Downtown Seattle to Downtown Victoria.

There is no bridge. You have to take a ferry, or I believe you can fly as well.
