The hydrocodone in Lortab is a very close derivative of codeine. Most people who have true allergies to codeine have a good chance of being allergic to things like lortab and vicodin. I wouldn't recommend it and neither would a pharmacist.

Yes. I am allergic to codeine myself, and I cannot take Lortab. You need to ask your doctor to prescribe something without codeine for pain.

You need to discuss this with your doctor. I am very allergic to codeine but I take Lortab for chronic arthritis pain.

Yes you should. Lortab is generic for Vicodin which has Codiene in it.

Lortabs are vicondine-completely different drug than codeine.Be careful if you are already sensitive to pain killers.
