That depends on what you want from your experience. If you don't think you want to attend college, be sure to pick a job that will give you a civilian job skill. If you do want to go to college, ask the recruiter about money for college. The army is the only branch of service that can guarantee you the job you pick. They can reserve it on site right infront of you. All of the services have their pros and cons, you just have to figure out what is important to you.

It wouldn't. I would recommend college or the Air Force over the Navy anyday. The Navy is not what recruiters will have you believe it to be. If you're coming in as an unrated seaman, get ready to clean toilets or mop floors. Furthermore, naval leadership is horrible. I signed up for the Navy after college and came in as an officer. Joining the Navy is the biggest REGRET of my life. It was a complete waste of time.

no one has the right to tell you what branch is good for you etc. all of that depends on you and what you think is better suited for you. if you're into getting down and dirty, the action, the hard core PTs and stuff, marine corps or army is probably the best. want to jump out of planes? go airborne army. wanna tour the world? go navy. wanna be a fighter pilot? don't bother with the army. it all depends on what YOU want. as for whether to go to college or the military, again, it's up to you. some people go to school and then join. others go military and then go back to school. if you want to do both, sign up for reserves or maybe even ROTC. there are so many different things you could do.

then again, the military isn't for everyone. it isn't something you just wake up one morning and decide to do. my suggestion: go to your local recruiting station and talk to the recruiters from different branches. find out the FACTS and don't get drawn into their "Navy is the best" or "Army is the best" talk. after you find out the hard core facts of each and every branch, then you'll be able to see what branch you want to go into.

me personally, navy was for me. i wanted to tour the world but at the same time get my education AND become a fighter pilot. I found that the NROTC could provide all of that for me, so that's the route i'm taking.

good luck to you and your search. :)

Vetrans preferance with state and federal jobs after you get out. It helps trust me. GI Bill free college money (Make sure you get the booster). Depending on your mos you might beable to take some college classes while you are in the navy. If you do any deployments you will see the world and grow as a person. 4 years is a very short time and I look back at the times I had in the Marines and some of the best times of my life....I have great benfits such as GI Bill, Va Home loan, Va business loan if you join make sure you take avantage of everything.

Out of high school many young people do not know what direction they want to take in life and the navy takes good care of you. They make sure you are clothed and fed. It was the first time in my life I had more than 1 pair of shoes. Also with the possiblilty of the draft coming. It is better to be in the navy than a ground pounder.

True story. My friend grew up in the inner city. He started stealing, dealing drugs, getting in with gangs at one point he was almost in with organized crime. His friends were all in jail or on their way. He was headed that way himself and he realized it. He was a highschool drop out with no way out of his situation so, he joined the Navy. They taught him discipline. They taught him respect. They taught him right and wrong and they taught him math and science and English and other things he should have learned in school.

My friend is now a successful man in the financial world. He has a good job, a good wife and is living the American dream. If the Navy can take this down-and-out punk and turn him around and make an honest, successful man out of him, they can work wonders with you. The Navy saved my friend's life and the fact that he got to see half the world in the process was just icing on the cake.

My daughter went in the Navy out of HS. She is now out with 1 1/2 children but would go back in a heart beat if not for the children. Her husband is Navy. I have never heard one word negative (except what you would hear in everyday life.)
My son went Army after HS. I often wished he had gone Navy. Although deployed 2 times, he is still alive. It was his choice.
Good luck to you in whatever your decision may be.

I worked for the army, actual I served in 3 branches of the militia, 2 enlisted , a million Civil service. in case you opt for to circulate to varsity you wil would desire to pay for the education expenses. all people can get federally funded student loans, yet interior the militia, The Air stress & The military have the final education applications. right here you may attend college while you serve. stable stuff!! They the two have one hundred% instructions suggestions. i'm presently interior the Air stress. I actual have 3 levels and the Air stress paid for all of it. The military has comparable classes. i like the fact that i don't have ANY education debt. I purely entered a genuine assets path, the AF forked out 4500.00 and that i've got been given a loose lap good!! PREMO! All you will desire to do in those classes is preserve a "C" frequent and pass the path! you may take instructions in something you prefer to do, it doesent would desire to be related to what you do as a job. the different reason you prefer to circulate militia first, is that all people which you circulate to varsity with, those which you attend the sames instructions with for the degree you're after. those persons will grow to be you opposition in a while once you're searching for for a job. the different reason, I have been given extra adventure on the activity whilst i became attending instructions, via the time a number of my acquaintances went to varsity for his or her commerce, i became already doing the activity and had the ranges in what i needed in the previous they finished.....stable stuff!! verify them out in case you have extra questions e mail me.
