I-- rare form of short bowel syndrome, a moment ago I still was bicycling 33 hilly miles a lot, 61old. Christmas morning, predawn, big lake park, I T-bone a big buck deer on my bike. I fracture my right side pelvis- 3 places. ER, carelessness, infection in my med port, loose it, get another in upper right arm, only place left. Days later, a blood clot near new port. Inpatient, heparin & Coumadin level have to be right to go home, up & down they go. So tough weird life. Only lately some nice things. Acclaim my well mental, emotional, & spiritual state of being. Not so sure now. Biking, walking again, wonder? My once estranged 30 old emotional / socially challenged son, needs me still. He never had a parent for all practical purpose. He just starting therapy on his own volition (Only way it works). Do I go on? I just don’t care right now… like why life? Please, God does not need glorification to be Love or feel Love. God does not have low self-esteem issues or does God

Pray for someone else in your times of need. A prayer for another when you are in need yourself reach the ear of the father quickly and both are blessed.

job 22:21-30
Ecclesiastes 3:11
Things seem bad. Unpleasant things happen in life. I don't pretend to know why. But I firmly believe that everything (even the bad stuff) happens for a reason. Perhaps, this is a way for your son to come to know family? I don't know. I do know that you can get through. I do know that praying for patience, strength, and understanding help. I do know that god does not always answer our prayers in ways we expect or even think we want at the time, but I feel he knows better than I. There is purpose in your misfortune, depend on it. When you pray remember to say thank you. Throughout the day whenever any thing good happens, even if its just a pretty sunset or a quiet moment, say thank you. There a billions of good things around you.

I'm sorry to hear of your situation and the pain it causes you. The answer I have to your question of "why continue" isn't easy and may sound trite. It's not meant to be. You continue because God hasn't yet called you Home. That decision has to be His alone. I've been through some things myself and have come out knowing this truth. If you're still on earth, God has a reason for your being here, whether you agree with that or ever find out what it was or not.

I don't understand why you ask if God has self-esteem issues. Of course He doesn't. The reason God needs us to praise and glorify Him is simply because He's the only One Who truly deserves it. He deserves glory because He is God.

If I get the real gist of your story, you lived for yourself and only yourself for many years.

Your child (at least one of them) felt this and still retains damage from it to this day.

For the most part, living a selfish and self centered lifestyle has been good to you.

Now, something has happened to you, and you can no longer (at least at the moment) live like you had been living.

My friend, God states that it rains on the just and the unjust. If you claimed to be a Christian during all these years and this is the first real test of your faith and patience, then you were not living for God and his will and his way.

Life is worth living no matter our circumstances, as God does not leave us alone during our times of pain, or during our times of joy.

This is a time right now when you should be turning to God and letting him know what is in your heart and what you know should be in your heart. Understand that there is plenty of praise and worship that you can give during times of trial and turbulence in your life.

In basic terms, bloom where you are planted, no matter the circumstances. Ask God where best you can serve at your current junction in life.

Why continue? Because you MATTER! When I read your question I was taken back in time a few years to when two of my brothers committed suicide. They didn't think they mattered, yet we are still suffering without them and grieving for them to this very day and will continue until the day we die!

You are in a bad place in your life right now. WE'VE ALL BEEN THERE. You need to rejuvenate and get your strength back, both physically, and spiritually.

Believe me, you are cared about by many more people than you realize right now in the state of mind you are currently in. You must talk to someone about your depression immediately!

Suicide is a very permanent, very BAD solution for a very temporal, very FIXABLE situation. This too shall pass, Dear one.

Please email me if you want to talk privately. I'll be praying for you.

I'm sorry things are not going well for you right now.If you can't bike, or even walk, again, you can find other things to enjoy.Reading, education, writing. There are so many things to do.Why should you go on? What is the point? You answered this yourself.Your son needs you.You brought him into the world, he needs you.Concentrate on his problems and trying to help him.Maybe this will help you both. Take care.
