I've run out of lighter fluid that I regularly buy at a local tobacco store for my Zippo lighter. I've got plenty of charcoal lighter fluid on hand because every time I go shopping for a planned barbeque I can never recall if I have enough charcoal lighter fluid. Can the charcoal lighter fluid I have on hand be used in my Zippo lighter?

does it burn? of course it does. a million years ago we used to put #2 fuel (deisel) in our zippos. they tended to smoke a bit but it did work.

JJ is right ! the only thing that's going to happen is your lighter will not light for very long, It will not blow up or other wise cause you any harm except you can't get your smokes lit. the best make shift fluid ive found is starting fluid! If you spray it into the cap it becomes liquid and poured into your lighter will last several days

Hey Barry, I have another idea....Just light your smoke from the stove top just be careful not to singe your hair
