Because there is a double standard. Anything the U.S. does is automatically considered bad. European countries don't complain about China arresting and jailing Catholic priests. Many of those priests have permanently "disappeared".

From what I'm hearing they actually have it pretty good compared to even our soldiers would have it. Guards aren't allowed to call them prisoners, they are a detainee. One prisoner lost his leg in war and we gave him a fake leg, he broke his ankle on his other leg playing soccer and we fixed that. They have soccer feilds and dental care, bottled water any time they want it and 8 hrs sleep except if there is a fire uninteruppted. Better than I get!!They have 3 meals a day and can say thier 5 prayers all w/o intteruption. 2 hrs outdoors and some get 12. We even provide them a Koran!!!! The very book they use against us! We're paying for their Muslim chaplains and when as is tradition in the military at sundown they play the Star Spangle Banner the prisoners complained it was to loud so it was turned down. The list goes on and on.

If we are to be truly seen as a beacon of freedom and justice to the world, we have to set our standards higher than the governments of the nations Gitmo prisoners come from. And includes adherence to the Geneva Convention.

Because we have every freaking bleeding heart organization around the world visiting and whining about it. The funny thing is that after they visit, they shut the F up.

They are probably afraid of more bad press. Like abu grabbe. Frankly, I dont care if they torture them or not. They are the enemy. I mean, when the shoe is on the other foot, they dont mess around, they kill us. Sometimes publicly.
