My wife is pregnant with our first child, a boy (thank God) and we're a little stuck on what to name him. He's due in April... So the problem is our last name is Clark so we want to give him something that goes well with that, but not something like John or James which would cause him trouble in the future... I've had to go these 28 years with the name Matt Clark, and believe me it's hard for people to find you out of the phone book with such a common name. My wife likes Jason and Elliot but I'm not so sure. Thanks for your help!

What about something like Isaac or Isaiah? Those are easy to pronounce but not overly common. Or Addison, Colby, or Simon. Also, by the time your son grows up phone book won't be very efficient, most people will use the internet and can just type in the first and last name so that wouldn't be a problem for him like it was for you.

Try a name that starts with the letter 'A'. That way his name would always be at the beginning of the Clarks in the phone book. Abel, Adam, etc.

Something with good initials, so he doesn't get an abusive nickname. TC? CC? We compiled a list of our fav names and waited til we met our son - which name to choose was obvious as soon as he was born.
