I'm VietnamEra vet and have been dealing with this for years, the cowards liberals that went to Canada and got their free college degree's and came back here with good jobs, discriminate against vets, I hate to tell you this but, you might as well leave, because you won't get promoted as long as these guys are in control of that company

It literally depends on the type of people who run the company. If the people who are managers and are doing the hiring are prior service, they will smile on hiring prior service people, however, if the person doing the hiring is anti-war, went to college instead of the military and is not very athletic etc... they may go out of their way to not hire you.
Don't beleive all of this crap out here about, duty, honor nad country... most Americans who are living off of service men's sacrifices say that crap because it's trendy but when it comes to putting it to practice...they'll take the easy way out.

A lot of jobs will accept military service instead of college credit. As long as you have served at least 5yrs. Also, military service transfers into college credit at most major univerisites. Service only means "very little" to people like you.

I believe it could count against you with a bad conduct or undesirable/dishonerable discharge. I think what really matters is if you served, you know how you performed and what you learned as a rite of passage. Employers will care if you falsifiy records.

Don't know what you're on about this time, erudite. But it seems to be your usual trolling again.
My company goes out of its way to hire veterans, because they have the special skills and knowledge needed to be successful in our business.
Perhaps if you stopped working for porn video dealers, they'd have more respect for you.

it depends on what job you're applying for. different jobs require different qualifications. for example, if you want to be a fire fighter or police after you get out, sure, the military will give you a good boost. but other jobs, not so much.
