I am shifting from India to Australia for which I woud like to know whether my mixer grinder, steam iron, sandwich toaster, etc. will be compatible in Australia or not. I am also curious to know whether my mobile (Sony K700I) will be compatibe in Australian GSM network or not. Please help me out.

Australian power supply is 220-240v with a frequency of 50hz. This is the same as Europe. This is incompatible with American electrical devices and transformers are necessary. If Indian power is the same as Australian and European power supplies then all you will need to do is change the plug if it is different from Australian plugs. Your equipment will work perfectly.

I don't know about the mobile phone, we don't have such new-fangled devices where I live in Australia. Mind you they do work in the cities.
