After filing my 2005 tax return the IRS said I owed an additional $699.37 taxes which I paid. How do I declare this additional amount on my 2006 taxes?

You can not deduct or claim Federal Taxes that you paid for Prior years on the current year tax return, Federal Taxes are not deductible at anytime

You don't. Federal taxes do not enjoy tax relief as a rule. Now, if you also paid any additional state income tax, you can add that to tax withheld and include it on Schedule A if you itemize.

Edit: Rob is wrong. One half of Self-employment tax is deductible as an above-the-line deduction, so if the extra tax was from self-employment income and you did not account for it, you can deduct the SE tax part.
