You don't know.

Assuming for a moment God exists - being omnipotent it wouldnt make sense for him to want anything or have a desire to do anything. Knowing everything he would know the outcome of anything he did so there would be no point in doing it.

Therefore God does not exist.

Funny - you can do that with anything in religion and reach the same factual conclusion - how come they don't get it?

He wants you to know Him and to trust Him, so that through you, He'll be glorified. He created us with a chief end. Man's chief end is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. Look up glorify and enjoy in the trusty Webster's dictionary. See how many definitions are in there? How do I know? I know from God and the Bible.

He wants us to be good caretakers of this planet and to love and cherish all his creation. He wants us to use our minds wisely and for the betterment of this world. He wants us to know joy and contentment, which would be far more abundant if we actually followed the teachings of Christ.

God wants the best for you ....that's why He sent His best (only begotten Son) to die in your place so you could have eternal life.
