Friday night I was in a house where someone was tearing up a bathroom. There was some mold on the drywall he was hauling out. I woke up the next day with a headache and basically slept all day. I spent the night in the house agian last night and my headache was better about 30 minutes after leaving the house. I have still been extremely tired though. Could mold cause this?

I had allergy tests done when I was a kid and I was very allergic to mold. That was years ago though, who knows.

It's my parents house and I was housesitting for them. It'll be hard to stay away but I'll definetly stay away until the construction is done. I still feel like I could go back to sleep right now.

You bet, mold is some nasty stuff. The mold could be causing you to be tired also. I say stay away from that house until construction is over, or wear a mask when you are there. The guy tearing the walls apart should do the same thing, he is breathing in all that mold, spores. Anytime, you are remodeling exposing molds, mildews and spores are real problems. Take the high road and protect yourself.

Sounds like allergy to me. I would stay from this house until it is finished. Completely finished. Cleaned up--dust will remain on the floors and in the air so an airing may be needed also, and even the walls painted. Some spores of the mold may attach to the new hung drywall.

Not all mold causes problems, unless you are allergic to molds. Toxic mold is not as common as you think and only a lab can make the diagnosis on whether you have toxic mold. I doubt that you will get sick like you say you've been after exposure to mold. More than likely you have a flu or cold bug.

Mold can be extremely dangerous. I had mold spore poisoning and broke out in hives. Some people have been hospitalized when the spores attacked their lungs. Wear a mask next time you're in the house.

YES. And, I hope you will never have penicillin, that is a mold also.

You really need to be VERY cautious.

Sometimes, the allergy will get worse.
