I just read a book that told me Joseph Smith wrote the book of Mormon with his face pushed into a top-hate, staring at a stone he dug up for hours.

It makes Mormon's sound like freaking crazy people.

It sounds crazy when you put it like that. But how do you know it really didn't happen that way? What we might claim to be crazy is sometimes not crazy at all but the truth. Think of Columbus wanting to sail around the world. His crew thought he was crazy and that they would all fall of the edge of the earth. Who was really crazy though? Don't let popular opinion limit your grasp on reality. You're a smart person. Go experience what the Mormons have to offer, maybe the Methodist, the Buddhist or whoever else and judge for yourself. If you truly follow that which you feel to be right, you'll be happy in the end.

No. Actually they know more about their own religion than any other group of religious followers I've ever encountered.

Who's really the crazy one? Your source of imformation on how Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon is an idiot. If you went to a Ford dealer, what do you think he would tell you about the Chevy? Go to the source for your information, not some ignorant mormon hater.

No, they're not crazy, yet. I lived in Salt Lake City, Utah - the capital of Mormondom - for a number of years and met Mormons and non-Mormons, and what are called "jack-Mormons"...lapsed or former LDS Church members who have left the Church. Many Mormons are fine people and some are a little hard to take...just like in every society. You can't argue belief with any believer, just listen and make your own decisions.

Anyone can be crazy, I know some Mormons that are the nicest people around. Everyone is different. Did you think that maybe it was just the author that was strange? By the way, there is no apostrophe in Mormons, that indicates that "is" has been combined like in it is to it's.

No,their not crazy. They just believe with all their heart that Joseph Smith was a prophet. They really don't care about the head in the hat thing. Some of them probably even don't know how he really "translated" the B.O.M. I always saw pictures of him sitting by a table with the golden plates in front of him. That's how most LDS think he did his translating.

I came to fined that all my missing answers were there. Oh yeah and the book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, we also read the holly bible .
HERE IS THE REAL STRY FOR YOU.

35666, Book of Mormon Stories, 1: How We Got the Book of Mormon, 2 When Joseph Smith was 14 years old, many churches were claiming to be true, and he did not know which one to join. One day Joseph read James 1:5 in the Bible: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God.” Joseph needed to know which church was right, so he decided to ask God. On a spring morning Joseph went into the woods near his home to pray. As he knelt down and started to pray, Satan tried to stop him. Joseph prayed harder, asking Heavenly Father for help. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ came to Joseph in a pillar of light. Heavenly Father pointed to Jesus and said: “This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!” Joseph asked which church he should join. Jesus told him not to join any of them because they were all wrong. When Joseph told some people what he had seen and heard, they laughed at him. The leaders of many local churches persecuted him. Three years went by. One night Joseph was praying to be forgiven of his sins and to know what he should do. An angel named Moroni appeared and told Joseph about a book that was written on gold plates. Joseph was to translate these plates into English. After Moroni left, Joseph thought about what Moroni had told him. Moroni came back two more times that night. The next day Joseph went to the top of the Hill Cumorah, which he had seen in a vision. There he found a big rock. He pried the rock up with a stick. Beneath the rock was a stone box. As Joseph looked into the box, he saw the gold plates. Moroni appeared and told Joseph not to take the plates but to come back on the same day each year for four years. Each time Joseph went, Moroni taught him. Joseph After four years Joseph was finally allowed to take the gold plates. He used the Urim and Thummim to translate some of them. Scribes helped Joseph by writing the words as he translated them from the gold plates. Joseph took the translated words to a printer and had them made into a book. The book is called the Book of Mormon. It tells about people who lived in America many years ago. It also tells about Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

Crazy? No. Misguided? Yes. However, they are no more misguided than most people who call themselves Christian. Consider:

Do you believe in a loving god who burns people in hell for an eternity?

Do you believe in a god who can split himself into 3 equal parts, and one of those parts was dead for three days but wasn't really dead, and was still equal to the two other parts?

Do you celebrate holidays like Christmas and Easter, although it is common knowledge that they are pagan observances?

Do you believe that the soul is immortal, although the Bible clearly says the soul CAN die? Ez. 18:20

Do you adorn your church buildings with the cross, although the cross is a pagan symbol that predates Christianity by thousands of years?

Do you believe that Jesus is God, although he said his Father was the ONLY true God? John 17:3

Do you believe it's okay to pay your ministers for their services, although Jesus said: "You received free, give free"? Matt. 10:8

Do you believe that all good people will go to heaven, although the Bible says at Ps. 37:29: "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it"?

Do you believe that Jesus is equal to his Father, although he said at John 14:28: "The Father is greater than I am"?

Do you believe that the holy spirit is God, although Jesus said there were things that only his Father knew?

Do you believe that, as a man, Jesus was true God, although Heb.2:9 says that he was "made a little lower than angels"?

You see? Before you ridicule the Mormons for their strange beliefs, look at your own.

Nope. I lived next door to a Mormon family for ten years. They were the kindest most loving people I have ever known. They had five kids all of whom were very responsible and as caring as their parents. Their friends from their church frequently visited their home. I found them equally as impressive. And not once did any of them proselytize.
