Hi there I am 21 and i had my gallbladder removed the "OPEN" way but they also tried the laproscopic one but my gallbladder was too infected for that, so I have a big cut plus the little holes, well anyways I have been having a lot of pain in my stomach around the big cut due to a cough i have. And when I go to the bathroom I notice the my stool comes out with a red streak in it almost all the time. I have had this for a week now and when I wipe there is bright red blood for just one wipe.

Scared and confused wondering if my coughing has hurt my internal incision and I might be bleeding because of it.

Im also scared that the pain I have might be a hernia starting because i am straining my incision because of the cough.

Please help!!!

There is nothing to be worried of just relax, people on the net will give you multiple suggestions, the best thing for you is to contact the surgeon who operated on you, OK.
Mere assumptions are not good, a stitch in time saves nine. there are a many reasons but I don't want to mislead you, as your is a different case.

I just had the surgery in January, and the recovery was relatively quick. I'm not going to lie to you, it is quite painful the first couple of days due to the air escaping your body (laproscopic procedures require pumping you full of air first). A lot of my relatives have had the same surgery and I can assure you that the complication you have described is a rare occurrence. I would ask your doctor of the definite signs of it to ease your mind. There will be time to ask questions before they put you under.

Hi Lizzie

Here is what I recommend:

1. Go on a juice fast (you'll need to buy a juicer) for 5-10 days. Use organic fruits and vegetables. This lets the body rest from eating processed and chemically enhanced foods.

2. While doing this you must do a Colon Cleanse to clear out the toxins that are still in the body! This is so important I cant express this enough!

3. Drink at least a gallon of distilled water a day as well. This helps rid of the toxins as well as hydrate your body. 80% of your body is water.

The cough is a sign you have an mucus/infection still in your system. Here is how to rid of that.

You can also make a cough syrup from eight ounces of warm pineapple juice and two teaspoons of honey. The bromelain in the pineapple juice is activated by the honey. As an alternative, mix the juice of one lemon with two tablespoons of glycerine, then add 12 teaspoons of honey and stir before each use. Take one teaspoon every 30 minutes, reducing as needed. (Do not refrigerate.)

Another useful kitchen remedy is to slice an onion into a deep bowl and cover in honey, letting stand overnight. The next morning, strain the mixture of juice and honey and take one teaspoon four or five times a day.

Herbs: Coltsfoot, horehound, and mullein are safe and effective for children and adults. Use as an infusion at least three times a day until your symptoms abate.

For a dry irritating cough, use an infusion of marshmallow leaves.

For cough with mucus, make a tea of 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder, a pinch of clove, and a pinch of cinnamon powder in one cup of water. In addition, gargle a solution made from one pinch of salt and two pinches of tumeric powder added to glass of water.

For chronic coughs, make a confection of one part sesame seeds (black seeds if possible) and 1/2 part shatavari. Add ginger and raw sugar to taste and take one ounce daily.

Flower Essences: Crab Apple can be helpful if your cough is due to infection.

A red streak means the blood is coming from the rectum and is not internal bleeding. Hemorrhoids or constipation can cause rectal bleeding. There's nothing to worry about unless you are losing large amounts of blood.
