Are you kidding? The pope is a man and not God.

Yes and no.

The Catholic Church teaches that the Pope is infallible at closely defined times.

The Pope is only infallible when he, in union with the body of bishops, solemnly teaches that a doctrine as true.

This comes from the words of Jesus to Peter (the first Pope) and the Apostles (the first bishops), "Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven" (Matthew 18:18) and "He who hears you hears me" (Luke 10:16).

At all other times the Pope can be just as wrong or sinful as you and me and be in need of forgiveness.

With love in Christ.

The Pope is no more human than you or I. Yes he can be wrong for as humans we make mistakes. It is part of our nature and how we learn.

not only is he wrong ! - it is wrong that he actually exists. every one worships his jewels and fur wearing a.s.s. kissing his hand (who knows where that's been) like he is God ! well guess what, he isn't and as a christian we are not supposed to worship any HUMAN other then God ! so right there its all wrong !

but Fools continue in their hypocritical ways of life and continue to kiss a.s.s. just for the sake of NOTHINGNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I say---- sell the Vatican BECAUSE IT IS THE RICHEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD - take the money and use it to help those who are less fortunate. buy medicines , build schools , help farmers who have lost everything rebuild their lives , sooo much good could come of this it would be a true reflection of Christianity , not all that money in the big fat bank account and people are suffering like they have never suffered before!!

shame on the so called Christians of to day!

Yes, definitely, and I was raised Catholic. He's a human too, and in no way "infallible".

I really do not like the new pope, but that's a different topic.

The Roman Catholic Church declares the Infallibility of the Holy See in all matters of faith.
In matters outside of faith, he's just a guy.
