You submit your papers or essays into turnitin.com and it checks for plagiarism. If you have copied a sentence or a phrase from another website or encyclopedia, it will tell you what section was copied and the % of the paper that has been plagiarized. It's used mainly for high school and college classes where term papers or essays are more common.

This is a program that teachers and profesors will sometimes use. This program will take a paper and search the internet to see how much of it is word for word, or the same words just changed around and it will return with a "This paper is 56% plagerized" or however much it is.

turnitin is not in my dictionaries but, I would guess, "turn it in" you have something you need to turn in to maybe your teacher?
