First off, I know a lot about computer so don't be afraid to get technical. Is there somewhere in the BIOS settings, setup menu from the boot log, etc. Please let me know if there is anyway to configure it and are there any programs to make sure I do not tamper with.

Go to Start>Run type in "services.msc" (no quotes) and hit enter.. you will see the system processes and their run status... You probably won't make any changes here but you can review suggested changes here. http://www.theeldergeek.com/services_guide.htm

Go to Start>Run and type "msconfig" and hit enter (no quotes) Click on the startup tab. You will see a list of a whole bunch of programs that start each time your computer boots. Most are annoying and can be disabled by unchecking them. Of the twenty or so listed in my startup tab I now only have 6 that I let start when I boot. (my anti virus program (4 program files), windows defender, and firewall. The rest are unchecked and my boot up time is around 45 seconds.

Here's a link that lists many startup items and gives you an idea what they do.. others you can google the file names (see the command line in msconfig) http://startup.networktechs.com/

I use a program called Tune Up Utilities. You can download it with the free trail and configure the start up. Then after the 30 days you can just uninstall it or buy it. Even after install the settings will stay. Also i believe that in the all programs menu there is a start up folder
