I think a lot of the time, it's the opposite...The bashing comes from those who are insecure in their beliefs, and need to diminish others in the hopes of feeling better about themselves.

I do not think they feel that they are putting down others faith, they just want everyone to see the truth as they see it. Remember people are afraid of things they do not understand and they act out because of it. I have never hear of superiority complex, sounds KKK to me. No christianity does not dominate Europe or USA..people call themselves christain even if they are new agers. Many believe in the goodness that Jesus taught, but they really do not believe he is the son of God who came to save the world. It kinda goes like you are jewish if you are born jewish and do not believe in Jesus, you are muslim if you are the follower of Allah, and if you do not fit into those two areas you must be a christain..but it may not really be what you believe. I have a good friend that calls herself christain but she believes in some very odd things that are not christain. She feels that Jesus was a great person and likes his teachings.

Let me say i believe religion is rule made by man there are always people who will break rules there is LOVE and HATE these are what every religion preach. There are those who share the Truth Because they have Love for there fellow man and woman and then there are those who hate and bash there are only two sides LOVE & HATE you can not embrace them both Hate consumes that which posses it LOVE heals God has a Law but he saw no one could follow it. but He still love us and wants us to having a LOVING relationship with Him Through the Love he sent to the world Jesus Christ. He didn't die on that cross for just for the Christians he died for everyone, the homosexuals the demon possessed the drunkards the liars the thiefs the murders, the child molesters the adulterators the idol worshipers the fornicators the rich the poor everyone, a person who is sick doesn't need a doctor put if your life is in sin your spirit is sick and there is a cure.

I can't speak for others, but my beliefs allow everyone their own path. It took 16 years of hard work to find the truth and I get irritated when people toting hold "holy" books get in my face threatening me with fairy tale horrors if I don't submit to their particular variation of an abboration.
You are free to believe what ever you like and practice it as long as it doesn't interfere with the rights of others to do the same.
Some people insist on getting up on their soap box and spewing rabbit raisins, orally, all over everyone else. There are those who go door to door or contaminate the airways. They insist on shoving their propaganda down everyone else's throats and when they meet another who is doing the same for another religion they are willing to go to war.
So in answer to your question, I don't want to be superior, just left alone.

it's simply teaching... our society works because knowledge is passed along to the newcomers. what knowledge is more important than worldviews themselves? if you believe what you say you do, and you care for other human beings, you should strive to teach.
obviously, bashing is a questionable method of teaching, but teaching is frustrating. also, sometimes a variety of approaches used together is better than a single method of teaching.. e.g. leading by example, logical exploration, and the occasional jarring slap-in-the-face. christianity contains some absurd ideas and thus it lends itself to deconstruction by 'bashing'.
peace to you

In a sense, perhaps you are right.
I've personally had some rather unpleasant experiences with some fundamentalists, and my impression was that they were very "superior" in their attitude, in spite of an also very noticeable "simplicity" of thought. They preferred their answers in black and white; uninterested in considering any shades of gray.

Yep. But it could also be construed as an inferiority complex which would cause a need to have others validate you opinions. Much the same as the childish rant--"My Daddy can beat up your Daddy."

I dont bash other faiths, but tolerating, when other calls me sinner is equally sin, and is below my dignity.
I read the speech of Swamy vivekananda. He is my inspiration.

Lets start with this, God told parents to teach their children his ways and laws.........correct?
Jesus told his followers to go make disciples.....Correct?
If someone is traveling the wrong way on a road or street and you know it is wrong, is it wrong to tell him?(If he asks)
But, then, there are the Atheists......Road blocks.
