That is the beuty of God. God was in control of that situation and all situations today, but at the same time God gives not only us but the angels he created the ability to chose their fate. God used Satan as a means to and end. That end is to bring his creation closer to him. Satan has been given the ability to torment us but only for a little while. He chose to defy God and ulimately God threw him out of heaven. Did God know that was going to happen? Sure!, but that does not mean that he should not have created Satan. There are certain things that I will permit my kids to do even though I know what the outcome is going to be (a bad one) this is allowed only for their growth. The same could be said about us and the choices God allows us to make. Most of them being under the negative influence of sin or satan. Will we chose to do what God would have us to do or that which Satan entices us to do.

Look Satan is real! He chose to be thrown out of Heaven. Now...You chose to either follow God in Christ or follow the sinfull world we live in.

You chose!

Matt

Satan does not show up as the Devil until the Book of Daniel. Up until then he is the angel charged with testing man, as in the book of Job. It is only after the Babylonian exile and the influence of dualistic Zoroastrianism that he becomes the Adversary.

Your point is well taken, so I'm going to fall back on my catholic upbringing and say "Well, it's a mystery..."

Well, from what people tell me, Christians believe that God is in the ever-present now. That means that there is no past present or future. It's all happening at the same time to him. Because of that, he sees what has happened, what will happen, and what is happening all at the same time, but he doesn't alter anything.

He won't not do something because he knows it will turn out badly, because if he never did it, then he'd never know that it would turn out badly. It's kinda complicated to think about, but does that make sense?

Satan is part of God he unconsciously created by not being too self aware in the moment. Of course once he saw him about, he said "That couldn't be ME!" But he's come around since.

God is good and truth , and for manifestation of His goodness and truthfulness, there should be opposite. Reality of everything is manifested only through the existense of its opposite.
For example, there is day and night. Had not there been night we would never know what night is, right
but since opposite of day is not there we would not even have imagine or think that we are living in day. And there wouldn't have been the word "day" in our dictionary.
Preception is possible only through opposite.

I don't even know why he created us in the first place. I cannot begin to fathom God's reasoning. Maybe you should ask a pastor. This is a difficult question to answer.

my gues is that God wanted to give each person a chance to follow him by free will so satan has to do something with that plan, but you'd get a better answer from your pastor, so ask him.

Because God is like the producer of a TV show and he is watching everything from a very wide screen TV.
