Well, I can't *afford* really expensive presently, but then again, some folks are making progress on making cars *more* energy safe (in terms of using less fuel, way less).
But then again....I'm not a part of the problem currently. ^_^ I rather suck at driving, currently don't have my license as I can't afford a car (too much expense, not just fuel and maintenance--the local shops here *are* a racket--but parking and *mandatory* insurance). So I walk and use the Mass Transit system (and more buses in that system are switching to cleaner-burning biodiesel as we speak).
If I did, however, really learn how to drive properly, and found a way to afford a car....I am thinking, since I really don't have a lot of friends or things to haul, that a "Smart fortwo" might be a good option, I hear they are *very* safe in terms of collisions, excellent fuel economy without the hybrid expense....
And I like round, cute cars. :P *lol* So sue me, I don't feel any threat to my manhood going on here...*lol*
But hey, I have to get that license back and get back to work first, right? O_O That's going to be a challenge by itself.
Hope this helps, and thanks for your time. ^_^

if they are mass produced, then you will see the cars currently being produced to be produced less and less.
The question is, who is willing to step up to the plate and begin production on a mass scale. It will be expensive at first, BUT..
the more that are produced, and the more that are bought, "theoretically based upon most other market trends" the cheaper they will become.
Although housing and cars are the one thing that continually get more and more expensive while other mass produced items b/c cheaper and cheaper.

Well Honda is producing Hydrogen Fueled Cars and they're coming out next year. Their first HFCar is called the Honda FCX Concept and my parents are going to buy one next year when they come out....
Anyways to answer your question, yes I would buy safe energy cars... Well atleast when I could save up enough money for it. & Why? I'm allergic to gasoline. lol

Sure--but they won't be more expensive--they'll be cheaper. Why do you think the auto companies don't want to build them?
