Maui is a good place for vacation. Kauai is a good place for vacation. Big Island of Hawaii is a good place for vacation. Oahu is a good place for vacation.
Just don't make the mistake of visiting the same island every time you go. Visit each one. They each have a different feeling and a different beauty.

Maui is one of my favorite places. There are such a wide variety of things to do, from the touristy stuff to active, to nature activities, to resort activities. Maui has it all and at a much slower and more relaxed pace than here on the mainland. Whether you want to lay on the beach, ride a bike down a 10,000 foot mountain, see whales and other sea life, see a dormant volcano as large as Manhattan, or visit a tropical rain forest you can do it on Maui.

If you have to ask, then you have never been there. Hawaii is the best place on earth. Maui is my island of choice. Diverse as to activities and interests. The best beaches, sunshine, rainforests, waterfalls, whales (in season), restaurants, shopping, hiking, scenic drives..... etc.etc.etc.
If you go, please do yourself a favor. Purchase the book "Maui Revealed". You won't regret it. It is by far the best guidebook(s) for Hawaii. The reviews are spot on and the available website is priceless when choosing where to stay. There are aerial views of almost every hotel in the islands. Go and enjoy.

Maui is the best. I recommend staying in Kihei, south of the Lahaina area. Kihei is built up now but still fairly quiet and without the cheapy stuff in Lahaina. I recommend the Hale Pau Hana condo. Not cheap but excellent, good beach, great view from lanais. Free parking. Have stayed there four times. Will go back too.

It is a beautiful place for vacation. I just got back from there yesterday. It is gorgous!! We stayed at the Village by the Sea, 2 bed 2 bath with a great ocean view for $180 a night! If you know anyone there have them book it and get a local discount. You can book thru Resort Quest.
I am now thinking about moving there after my visit! It is beautiful

Ofcource, depends on wht u like to do over there. Stay in maui and plan to visit close by ilands for a day or two... Thats fun rather than visit and stay in places like oahu and big any other big cities...
