Enclose all of the old city in a geodesic dome. Do a complete 100% search of everyone and everything inside to make sure there are no weapons. Then call the dome, "THE NEW TEMPLE." It will be over Temple Mount, which is one of the requirements. And if the mosques of the Muslims and the Churches of the Christians are inside the Jewish Temple they would be less likely to want to blow up the Temple because if it comes down, it comes down on their stuff also.

The only thing that would have to be certain is there are not statues (idols) inside the dome so the Catholic might get a little upset.

I wish it were possible to just declare the Old City a politics/nationality free zone. Of course it isn't. Heck...even building an entrance ramp is causing ww3 over there now.

It's a good idea, in theory. But the dome would take away from the beauty of the city, and all of the history - it would really be an eyesore.
