My puppy is 6 mos. old and he was neutered on Thursday. He's seemed fine since he came home, but today he seems to have lost all bladder control. He keeps peeing somewhere (on the bed, carpet, etc.) every 20 minutes or so, which is very unlike him (he usually asks to go outside!). He seems a little lethargic (and a little more affectionate than normal), but otherwise is acting fine. Any thoughts as to what could be going on? Also, should I take him to an emergency vet or try to call his vet tomorrow once it's open? Thanks for any advice you might have.

It sounds like a UTI. Does he cry when he pees? I would call the emergency vet and ask what they think. UTI's can be very dangerous.

This sounds normal as the dog is stressed after his surgry, and there's probably some swelling around the area, which could effect his bladder control. Of course, we can not tell you if your dog could have problems since, one we can not see him, and two, most of us are not trained vets. We just tell you based on your info and our experience. Please keep a close eye on your dog and if anything doesn't seem right to you, contact a vet immediately. Good luck to you! And I hope your dog gets well soon.

She would not want pills; you merely could desire to take her exterior each hour, around-the-clock, for the subsequent 2-3 weeks, and steadily amplify the time. once you are able to't watch her, keep her in a crate that's merely sufficiently super for her to lie down. She won't desire to pee on herself, so while she whines, take her exterior. carry the crate from room to room with you so she in no way thinks she's abandoned or on my own. confer along with her. compliment her while she does something you like. each time you walk faraway from the crate you're coaching her staying power, and each time you walk back you're worthwhile her for no longer screaming. and he or she is studying to have confidence you, on the grounds which you in many situations come again. That helps keep her from coming up separation rigidity. I in no way heard of bladder administration pills made for all of us different than an elderly individual, no longer a canines. in no way a domestic dog; retention of waste isn't a good factor!

I think he's stressed out, and not sure how to react and doing some of everything, I would go see what the vet has to say anyway

Probably just a urinary tract infection. Get him into your vet for an appointment and take a urine sample with you so it can be tested.

yes, sounds like a bladder infection. My dog had better bladder control after being fixed (less or a need to mark his territory and less restelessness).
