I've been going to the gym lately and have noticed that many girls my age go there. It's just hard to approach a female for me, especially when they are working out. Is there anything that can help me out?

Are you going there to work out or pick up women? I go to workout and don't appreciate anyone bothering me there, but that's just me. Perhaps you can take a class at the gym and go on a regular basis. If you see someone you fancy make eye contact and smile. After a few sessions say hi and strike up a conversation while getting equipment. After a few more sessions invite her o the snack bar for a smoothie or something.

Being a girl myself, what turns my head is confidence. If you see a girl you want to talk to, just go talk to her. I know it sounds too easy and a little intimidating, but it actually is the best way to do it. DO NOT approach her if she is talking to someone or is in an embarrassing situation. like doing squats or something. Wait until she is doing a light exercise and approach her by saying Hi. What is your name. Want a workout buddy. It seems to go a lot faster if I am chatting with someone.....Or something like that. It will work. Just be Confident....

Just start by saying something like, "I see you in here all the time... You're in such great shape" then ask her about her workout or eating. Or ask her if shes a model. Guys always say that stuff to me...
